Welcome to the Pittsford Mustang Soccer Club Travel Tryouts for Boys and Girls from U8 up to U19. The tryout dates, times, and contact person by age group is listed here for the PMSC Travel Team Tryouts Schedule. Tryouts will be held rain or shine and we request you arrive promptly and dressed for the weather. Tryouts may be a combination of skill tests and/or field play depending upon the age group.
It is expected that your son or daughter will attend all tryout sessions to be evaluated properly regardless if you are a returning player or a new player. If you have an unavoidable conflict, it is a must you attend one tryout in order to be selected to a team. Please advise your age contact person at registration if you know you will be missing a session.
It is the desire of the Club to have multiple teams by age group to play in the upcoming RDYSL Season. The final number of teams will be formed depending upon the interest from the community and the availability of volunteer coaches. The coaching staff at the PMSC will make every attempt to treat all players attending the tryouts equally.
You must complete the online Registration Form to attend the tryouts.
The Club will be selecting players into A-B-C team structures by age group in order to align better with the RDYSL multiple divisions. The structure and placement in the RDYSL divisions will be determined by the number of teams in each age group. It is the desire of the Club to have strong representation at all divisions of the RDYSL.
Please indicate on the Registration Form which level of play you would like the coaching staff to evaluate your son or daughter. Please refer to the A-B-C descriptions below to guide your decision. Consult your age contact person if you need more information to help you decide. It is the intention of the Club to select a "developmentally appropriate" program for all players attending our tryouts.
In addition, please indicate on the Registration Form if the coaching staff should consider your child to play the Goalie position. The Club would like to develop multiple goalkeepers per age group. At age groups U11 and below, the club recommends the use of multiple goalies per game. At the older age groups, the goal keeping position playing time is at the discretion of the Coach.

PMSC A-B-C TEAM STRUCTURE DESCRIPTION
A
HIGH level of competition in the RDYSL. Mainly placed in D1 in the RDYSL. The team is expected to play all-year round starting with outdoor in the fall, Club sponsored indoor practice in the winter, and moving back outdoors in the spring. The team may enter an indoor league in the winter and will most likely attend 2-3 outdoor tournaments in addition to the RDYSL league. The season is anticipated to start in October and last through July. Soccer will be at a very competitive level and will be treated as a high priority. Commitment level expected is HIGH all year round.
B
MEDIUM level of competition in the RDYSL. Mainly placed in D2 or D3 in the RDYSL. The Team is expected to play competitively primarily in the spring. The team will have Club sponsored indoor practice in the winter and could enter in an indoor league in a less competitive level than D1. In addition to the RDYSL league, the team may attend 1-2 outdoor tournaments. The season is anticipated to start in October and last through July. Soccer will be competitive and commitment level expected is MEDIUM in the winter and HIGH in the spring.
C
MODERATE to EASY level of competition in the RDYSL. Mainly placed in D3 through D5 in the RDYSL. Teams will have Club sponsored indoor practice in the winter moving to outdoor in the spring. The team may attend minimum 1-2 outdoor tournaments. The season is anticipated to start in October and last through July. Soccer will be more developmental and recreational. Commitment level expected is MODERATE in the winter and HIGH in the spring.
NOTE: The above descriptions are generic and constitute the expected level of participation from the Club and should be used as a reference in selecting a competitive level for tryouts. Actual activities may vary from team to team in different age groups depending upon the Coaches direction supported by the parents. The Club has the full authority on final team placement with the RDYSL.
